Bob and I had a great time with Lauren while she was here. The dogs LOVED having her here! We have three bedrooms in the house here and all three of the beds are unusually high off the ground. One is our bedroom, one was Lauren's and we used the other one for the dogs to sleep in -- originally on the bed, but after Sparky injured one of her front paws/legs when jumping off of it, we had them sleep on their big bed cushion which we brought from home. While Lauren was here, they happily slept in her room and on the bed with her -- she even moved the chair in the room close to the bed so they could get up and down by themselves without injury. All was well -- UNTIL LAUREN LEFT TO RETURN TO COLLEGE . . .
We went to bed as usual, putting the dogs to bed in their room first.
We were reading books in bed when we started hearing a strange moaning sound. It started out short and intermittent but built to a very persistent sound. Bob went to check on the noise which seemed to be coming from the "dog's room". Sure enough . . . Bailey was crying at the door and when Bob opened it she immediately ran into Lauren's room!!! She misses you, Lulu!
So . . . Bob moved the chair over to the bed again and Bailey bounded up looking for Lauren! He put their doggie bed in there, too, just in case . . .
Although Sparky had been just fine in the other room, she decided Lauren's room was the place to sleep. And that is what they did! NOPE -- we didn't get a picture of that -- it was nighttime!
But here they are napping in their favorite spots today -- Sparky on the chaise in our bedroom and Bailey under a dining room chair (it reminds her of the ottoman back home).
